The Minnehaha County Commission Office is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Commission Assistant to support the Commission Office and Minnehaha County Commissioners. This position provides a wide range of administrative and operational support, including coordinating schedules, delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate data management, and preparing professional correspondence, reports, and public-facing communications, newsletters, and forms.

How You Will Make an Impact
What You Need to Succeed in this Role
High school diploma or GED and four years of increasingly responsible experience in public administration and/or an administrative/executive support role. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Must successfully complete pre-employment background process.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related computer programs. Ability to learn agenda management and financial reporting software. Ability to exercise tact and to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, other agencies, and the public. Present a professional appearance and communicate with others in a respectful and approachable way.
Preferred but not required: Knowledge of data management systems, report compilation skills, and general knowledge of government operations. Excellent communication skills.
