Description

Superintendent

The Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Leading all day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects.
  • Managing ground-up projects from site mobilization through project completion.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, architects, owners, and internal project teams.
  • Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Conducting constructability reviews and proactively resolving field challenges.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved.
  • Overseeing site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce planning.
  • Maintaining detailed daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
  • Enforcing quality control standards and ensuring work meets project specifications.
  • Championing jobsite safety and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Partnering closely with Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Serving as the primary on-site leader, driving successful project execution and client satisfaction.

A successful Superintendent should have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
  • Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $20M+.
  • Ability to independently lead large-scale projects, ideally up to $40M.
  • Experience within K-12, municipal, community, government, or similar commercial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and field operations.
  • Experience coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and related construction technology platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding project locations.
