Job Description

Description

SAIC is seeking a Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) Integrator to support Space Systems Command's (SSC) Kronos Family of Systems (FoS) in advancing cutting edge Operational Command and Control (C2)and Space Battle Management (BM) by accelerating the transition of commercially developed capabilities into operational use. This role requires an experienced professional who can bridge commercial solution providers, government acquisition and engineering organizations, and existing Programs of Record. You will be responsible for tracking CSO-selected solutions through each phase of assessment, prototyping, testing, maturation, transition, and production, and for coordinating the technical and programmatic activities necessary to integrate successful capabilities into existing programs and operational environments.

This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, and focuses on supporting the Horizon program within the Space C2 Program Management Office. As part of this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Space Systems Command''s (SSC) Battle Management Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) Program Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary integration focal point for CSO-selected capabilities supporting BMC3I, ensuring alignment among commercial solution providers, government stakeholders, engineering organizations, and receiving programs.
  • Track commercial solutions through the full CSO lifecycle, from initial selection and technical assessment through prototyping, demonstration, testing, transition planning, production, and integration into existing programs.
  • Develop and maintain solution-level integration roadmaps, schedules, dependencies, risks, decision points, entrance and exit criteria, and transition actions to provide clear visibility of each capability's progress toward operational use.
  • Coordinate technical assessments, demonstrations, test activities, cybersecurity requirements, interface definition, data integration, and operational evaluations to determine solution readiness and integration feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Contracting Officers, System Engineers, software teams, commercial vendors, operators, and external stakeholders to resolve integration issues and ensure transition objectives are met within schedule, technical, and budget constraints.
  • Support transition planning between CSO efforts and receiving programs, including identification of required architecture changes, interfaces, infrastructure, accreditation, sustainment, contracting, funding, and production considerations.
  • Provide acquisition and program integration support for follow-on actions required to move successful CSO capabilities into production, including acquisition strategies, Statements of Work (SOWs), technical evaluations, cost estimates, transition agreements, and other supporting documentation.
  • Use agile program management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira and Confluence) to maintain traceability of requirements, actions, risks, dependencies, test results, and transition status across multiple commercial solutions and receiving programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 12+ years, or PhD with 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, acquisition, program management, software integration, or technology transition within the Department of Defense (DoD) community.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition frameworks, program management, systems engineering, and software/hardware development and integration practices.
  • Experience integrating software, data, or related operational capabilities into existing software systems or Programs of Record.
  • Proficiency in collaboration, requirements, and documentation tools, including Microsoft Office suite, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and rolled in the Continuous Vetting program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and consent to a polygraph examination (as required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Commercial Solutions Openings, Other Transaction Authority (OTA), rapid prototyping, Middle Tier of Acquisition, Software Acquisition Pathway, or other rapid acquisition and technology transition approaches.
  • Experience transitioning commercial or non-traditional defense contractor technologies from prototype or demonstration into production and operational programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional integration efforts involving government program offices, operational users, systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity teams, and commercial vendors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and programmatic issues for both technical and non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving, risk management, and organizational skills with experience managing multiple solutions, dependencies, and transition activities concurrently.

Why Join the BMC3I Team?

The BMC3I mission depends on rapidly identifying, evaluating, and fielding capabilities that improve operational effectiveness. As a Commercial Solutions Opening Integrator, you will help turn promising commercial technologies into fielded capabilities by connecting innovation efforts with the programs responsible for delivering and sustaining operational systems. This role provides the opportunity to influence how commercial solutions are matured, transitioned, produced, and integrated across BMC3I while contributing directly to national security.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
