Description

Service TechnicianAs a Service Technician you will work at our Wilks Tire location in Decatur, AL, providing light mechanical service and tire service to both the Commercial Trucking industry and private autos. You will perform the following services:  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:   Perform light mechanical maintenance on vehicles:  Lube, oil change, filter service  Replace and/or repair tiresAlignments Front End SuspensionBrakes & Air System DOT Annual InspectionsDetermine service requirements from commercial truck drivers and private auto owners and communicate to Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians  Properly execute required service ticket to submit to management. Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements. Clean and maintain service equipment. Any other duties as assigned by management Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting. Report any safety issues immediately to management.  Help keep shop clean and organizedMaintaining a Professional AppearanceBasic Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of experience including brakes, oil changes, front end work, all wheel position alignments.Must be at least 21 years of age. Have your own toolsCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.  DOT Inspector Certification.ASE Certification     Candidate Criteria: Commitment to follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements. Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision, and be willing to attend appropriate training sessions. Strong work ethic; independently motivated to produce results with limited influence from others.  Hard worker, someone who works diligently to get tasks done and demonstrates personal characteristics, such as responsibility, dependability, conscientiousness, communication, and teamwork. Display a commitment to learning new technologies within the rapidly changing industry. Ability to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions. Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines.
