Description

Commercial Roofing Service Crew Chief

Also known as: Service Crew Lead, Field Service Supervisor, Roofing Service Team Leader

Location: Atlanta, GA

Compensation: $28–$32 per hour, based on experience

A day in the life

You roll up to a customer site with a small service crew (typically 1–2 teammates). A facility manager points to ceiling stains. You trace the water path, check penetrations, and get hands-on with EPDM, TPO, PVC, or metal details. You document conditions with photos, build a precise repair scope in a mobile app, and execute a lasting fix—then communicate what you found and how you solved it. Before leaving, you note a few preventive items, ensuring the building stays dry long after the rain moves on.

What you’ll handle

  • Diagnose and repair leaks on commercial roofing systems (EPDM, TPO, PVC, metal, and related systems).
  • Complete remediation and service repairs accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect roofs, capture photos, document conditions, and develop repair scopes.
  • Lead and work alongside a 1–2 person service crew.
  • Communicate clearly with building owners, facility managers, and internal teams.
  • Use mobile service applications for inspections and repair reporting.
  • Identify additional repair or maintenance needs during visits.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Work safely and follow OSHA and company safety procedures.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of commercial roofing service experience (repairs and diagnostics).
  • Proven ability to independently locate and fix roof leaks.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong safety mindset and working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Comfort using a mobile device for photos, inspections, and service reporting.
  • Reliable, detail-focused, and adaptable as priorities shift.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small crew is preferred.

Why this service role stands out

  • Service work only: Focus on troubleshooting, repairs, diagnostics, and inspections—not large production installs. Service work typically means less exposure to extreme heat or cold than full-day production roofing.
  • Autonomy: A high level of independence with less day-to-day oversight. We trust experienced pros to deliver.
  • Flexible schedule: Flexibility based on customer and operational needs.
  • Potential overtime: Opportunities may be available based on operational needs.
  • Paid travel time: Paid window/drive time—including driveway-to-driveway travel where applicable, subject to established travel-distance guidelines.
  • Growth path: Join a large, established national roofing company with ongoing training and room to advance as our service division expands.

Compensation & benefits

  • $28 to $32 per hour, based on verified experience.
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Ongoing training and opportunities to grow.
