Position Overview

As a Commercial Roofing Estimator, youll play a vital role in evaluating project specifications, conducting thorough roofing assessments, and providing accurate and competitive estimates for materials, labor, and project costs. Youll collaborate with project managers, clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Assessment:

• Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
• Conduct on-site roofing inspections to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and collect critical data for accurate estimates.

Cost Estimation:

• Use industry-specific software to prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, and project costs.
• Research and procure competitive pricing from vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Develop comprehensive, itemized bid proposals that clearly outline project components and associated expenses.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project needs and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on project scope, timelines, and budgets.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up to date with industry trends, building codes, regulations, and new roofing technologies.
• Implement best practices and innovative approaches to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.

What Were Looking For

• Experience 5+ years as a Commercial Roofing Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
• Industry Knowledge Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, materials, installation techniques, and building regulations.
• Technical Proficiency Experience using The Edge estimation software and familiarity with project management tools.
• Analytical & Detail-Oriented Ability to produce accurate, competitive, and data-driven estimates.
• Strong Communication Skills Ability to collaborate effectively with teams, clients, and vendors.
• Time Management Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in estimating, roofing systems, or project management are a plus.
