Mid-Level Commercial Real Estate Associate – Richmond, VA

A well-established Virginia law firm known for its middle-market business clients wants a mid-level associate for its growing commercial real estate group in Richmond. You'll handle real deals with real responsibility from your first week, with partners who bring associates into client work right away. The firm's culture is collegial and entrepreneurial, and it gives you a defined path to partner.

What you'll do

• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for commercial property acquisitions and dispositions
• Prepare and negotiate commercial leases for landlord and tenant clients
• Handle development agreements and loan documents in real estate financings
• Run due diligence, including title and survey reviews
• Support zoning and land use work tied to development projects
• Work directly with clients and opposing counsel as a key member of the deal team

What you bring

• Mid-level experience in real estate law, focused on commercial transactions
• Admission to practice in Virginia
• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Clear communication and a collaborative, team-first approach

Compensation and benefits

• Base salary of $160,000 to $190,000, depending on experience
• Performance and year-end bonuses, with a 1,750-hour billable target
• Firm-paid associate health insurance, plus a 401(k) with a safe harbor employer contribution
• Bar dues and malpractice coverage paid, flexible scheduling, and an integration partner for lateral hires at a firm that carries no debt
