Are you a commercial real estate attorney who wants to run your own deals instead of spending years on diligence in the background? I'm partnering with a well-respected, entrepreneurial law firm in the Triangle that's adding a Commercial Real Estate Associate to its Real Estate and Land Use practice. You'll work directly with experienced partners, talk with clients from day one, and take on more of your own matters as you show you're ready.
What you'll do
- Handle acquisitions, sales, financings, leases, development deals, and exchanges
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, leases, easements, development agreements, loan documents, and closing documents
- Run deals from start to finish, including diligence, title and survey review, and closing checklists, while coordinating with lenders, title companies, brokers, and opposing counsel
- Work across apartment, office, shopping center, retail, flex, medical office, and mixed-use projects
- Collaborate with the firm's business, land use, financing, and litigation teams
What they're looking for
- J.D. with excellent academic credentials
- 3–7 years of substantive commercial real estate transactional experience
- Licensed in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and willing to get licensed in NC within one year
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Large firm, boutique real estate, developer-side, lender-side, or in-house real estate experience is a plus
Why you'll love it
- Real ownership of substantive, high-stakes deals
- A collegial, low-bureaucracy culture with hands-on mentorship
- A growing firm where initiative is valued
- Competitive pay plus health, dental, vision, a retirement plan, and PTO
