Join the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) group at J.P. Morgan as a Full Time Agency & Institutional Capital Analyst in our Commercial Real Estate Program. We provides term lending solutions to Multifamily borrowers through Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae''s Delegated Underwriting and Servicing Platform.

As an Agency & Institutional Capital Analyst within the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) group at J.P. Morgan, you will gain hands-on exposure to your sub-line of business by working directly with team members, participating in projects, and learning about the types of clients your team works with. You will have opportunities to network with peers, work with colleagues and senior managers, and participate in training opportunities to sharpen your skills. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop a strong foundation of analytical skills needed for a successful career in Commercial Real Estate.

Agency & Institutional Capital (AIC): Provide lending solutions for multifamily borrowers through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other institutional capital sources such as life companies, by collaborating with Agency Bankers, Screeners and Underwriters. Our agency lending services offer a variety of commercial real estate financing products that effectively align investor capital with borrower needs. Additionally, our agency product line is designed to support firm-wide objectives, such as affordable housing and balance sheet liquidity.

What you can expect

As an Analyst in the AIC program, you will receive a valuable experience in Commercial Real Estate including targeted exposure to Screening, Banking, Underwriting, and Transaction Management.

The program provides AIC Analysts with the ability to develop a strong foundation of analytical skills needed for a successful career in Commercial Real Estate. You'll work with AIC professionals on a team, drawing from the full spectrum of the firm''s resources to develop customized financial solutions to meet client needs.

You will spend the duration of your program in either our New York, NY or Chicago, IL office where you will work with our AIC Team to provide support to our clients and gain exposure to Screening, Banking, Underwriting, and Transaction Management.

Upon successful completion of the AIC Analyst Program (ending January 31, 2028), you may be promoted to Associate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial modeling & risk grading to support transactions

  • Analyze collateral & market analysis

  • Conduct Sponsorship & Guarantor analysis

  • Summarize key deal metrics and facts for deal narratives

  • Support Screening & Underwriting teams with ad-hoc requests, loan sizing, data inputs, third party report reviews, narratives and market research

  • Communicate internally and externally with bankers, underwriting teams, and clients

  • Develop an understanding of Multifamily Agency lending and Government-Sponsored Agencies

Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Earn a Bachelor's degree with graduation in December 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025

  • Demonstrate relevant internship experience or coursework in real estate

  • Communicate exceptionally well verbally and in writing

  • Apply excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

  • Maintain strong attention to detail

  • Thrive in a collaborative work environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrate a keen interest in Agency Lending
  • Work effectively with team members in the New York, NY or Chicago, IL office
