SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, and directs all activities and responsibilities for achieving financial goals at a departmental level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Operations
- Monitor and evaluate all departmental activities for optimal efficiency and productivity.
- Establish processes and procedures to maximize effectiveness of operations.
- Develop and implement fabrication and installation plans to ensure attainment of project goals.
- Evaluate material and equipment needs to ensure project requirements are fulfilled.
- Measure project progress and productivity to evaluate and communicate results from operations.
- Implement and evaluate quality control measures to support commitment to excellence.
- Provide leadership by setting an example for professionalism, work ethic, and integrity.
- Oversee continued departmental profitability and sustainable growth.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and core values.
Personnel
- Oversee all activities related to hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations for departmental personnel.
- Create and implement training programs to develop and maintain a highly qualified workforce.
- Coordinate with other trade managers to develop opportunities for cross training and manpower fluctuations.
- Evaluate employee capabilities and develop individual plans for improvement and attainment of their goals.
- Provide feedback to personnel to communicate progress and areas of needed improvement.
- Determine labor needs for each project and implement an effective manpower plan to meet project needs and schedule.
Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers and other departments to establish and implement effective plans of operation for each project.
- Build trust and relationships with office staff, support staff, and other departments.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other trade managers within the company.
- Emphasize and promote a team approach to resolving issues.
- Coordinate with support staff to communicate and fulfill departmental needs in an efficient manner.
- Assist estimating activities with input for bid preparation and project procurement.
- Provide feedback to the estimating group regarding costs and productivity.
- Maintain positive working relationships with the customer through effective and open communication.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database planning.
- Must be proficient in reading prints and specifications.
- Minimum 10 years previous experience in commercial plumbing.

Tool list will be provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements for the role are specified and are necessary to succeed in the role's application of tasks.
This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
