Tired of Chasing Quick Wins Instead of Building Something That Actually Pays Off?
You’re someone who walks into a business, gets past the gatekeeper, and earns real trust with the decision-maker. You play the long game instead of the quick pitch. You stay organized enough to know exactly where every relationship stands. You don’t fold after a string of “no’s” and are tired of transactional sales roles and empty quotas. Are you tired of companies that don’t reward you for the accounts you actually build? If any of this sounds like you, let’s talk!
Who This Is For:
- A relationship-builder who earns trust with business owners and decision-makers, not just gatekeepers.
- Someone who plays the long game — staying in front of a prospect for months without being pushy, because you know the payoff is worth it.
- A self-starter who thrives on autonomy: you run your own calendar, your own territory, and your own pipeline.
- Someone who’s organized: logs every touchpoint and knows their numbers cold, without someone standing over their shoulder.
- Someone who’s tough enough to handle slow months and quiet stretches without losing momentum.
- You’d rather build real accounts each year than churn through one-off jobs that go nowhere.
What This Role Really Looks Like:
This is a Commercial Partnership Representative role with 1-Tom-Plumber of Long Island. Your turf is winning and growing relationship-driven commercial clients and referral partners near Farmingdale so they call 1-Tom first for service, maintenance, and emergency plumbing and drains. You’ll:
- Identify, build, and strengthen relationships with commercial clients — restaurants, gyms, hotels, grocery/retail, senior living, and owner-run multifamily properties.
- Build and activate referral partners — insurance agents/brokers, property managers, and other trades who consistently send jobs your way.
- Run in-person meetings with decision-makers that actually move deals forward.
- Schedule plumber walkthroughs with new relationships.
- Attend networking and industry events, documenting, setting, and following through on follow-ups with new contacts.
- Document all touchpoints in the CRM system.
You own the relationships, the pipeline, and the weekly rhythm. You hand off technical diagnosis, pricing, doing the work, and job dispatching to the techs, ops, and CSR teams — your job is opening doors and keeping them open.
This is not a desk job or a “spray and pray” sales role. If you need constant supervision or hate the grind of staying in touch for months before a deal closes, you’ll struggle here. If you’re driven, organized, and genuinely enjoy the long game of earning trust, you’ll thrive here!
What You Get Here (That You Don’t Get Everywhere Else):
- No micromanagement: real autonomy to run your territory and your calendar.
- True support from a manager that provides resources to ensure your success.
- A trusted and professional team of plumbers to execute jobs to the highest standard.
- Clear commission structure.
- Uncapped earnings!
Must Haves:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable getting past gatekeepers to reach real decision-makers.
- Ability to play the long game: consistent follow-up over months without coming across as pushy.
- Strong organizational skills — reliable CRM documentation, calendar discipline, and command of your own numbers.
- Resilience — handles “no,” slow starts, and quiet months without losing pace.
- Reliable transportation and comfort with a field-based, visit-heavy schedule.
- Experience in B2B sales, field marketing, relationship management, or a trades-adjacent industry preferred.
What Success Looks Like:
- $500,000 in revenue from new relationships collected over 12 months.
- 9+ new client relationships entered into the pipeline each month.
- Up-to-date documentation in the CRM system.
- Consistent follow-up with new contacts.
- Attendance at networking and industry events on a weekly basis.
- A written playbook simple enough for another rep to pick up and run with.
Salary: $65,000–$75,000 + commissions; commensurate with experience
