Are you the person who looks at a spreadsheet, CRM, or business process and immediately sees what could work better?
Do you enjoy connecting the dots between data, people, processes, technology, and business results?
Our client is a family-owned Connecticut manufacturer with more than 50 years of history and 200+ employees, specializing in the design and manufacturing of electro-hydraulic controls used across a variety of industries.
They are looking for a Commercial Operations & Analytics Specialist to help bring greater visibility, structure, accountability, and insight to their commercial organization.
This is more than a reporting role.
You will become a key resource for understanding what is happening across customers, opportunities, quotes, orders, projects, pipeline, and revenue—and helping the organization determine what needs to happen next.
This position sits at the intersection of Sales, Operations, Analytics, Technology, and Process Improvement.
You will have the opportunity to:
Build and improve commercial processes rather than simply follow them.
Turn business data into information leadership can actually use.
Create dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and reporting tools that improve decision-making.
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies across the commercial organization.
Improve CRM and business-system discipline.
Work directly with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Customer Service, and Operations.
Explore opportunities to use AI, automation, RPA, and technology to eliminate repetitive work and improve how the business operates.
Gain broad exposure to a complex B2B manufacturing organization.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to become a go-to resource for commercial intelligence and operational improvement.
Own the day-to-day discipline surrounding commercial processes, workflows, ownership, priorities, deadlines, handoffs, and follow-through.
Document and improve standard processes and playbooks.
Establish clear visibility into opportunities, pipeline, quotes, orders, projects, SROs, customer commitments, milestones, and open actions.
Identify stalled, aging, incomplete, high-priority, and at-risk opportunities.
Support sales forecasting and analyze forecast accuracy.
Prepare information and reporting for regular commercial reviews.
Develop dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, aging reports, exception reports, and management reporting.
Create a Weekly Commercial Priorities View highlighting key customers, opportunities, pipeline, projects, quotes, issues, overdue actions, and decisions requiring attention.
Analyze revenue, bookings, backlog, customer and product performance, opportunity conversion, win/loss trends, purchasing patterns, customer retention, inactive accounts, lead progression, and campaign effectiveness.
Translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
Maintain CRM data quality and reporting discipline.
Ensure customer, contact, lead, opportunity, activity, and next-action information is accurate and current.
Identify duplication, bottlenecks, incomplete handoffs, and unnecessary manual work.
Determine what can be eliminated, simplified, standardized, delegated, automated, or enhanced through AI.
Help evaluate and improve the use of CRM, ERP, BI, and other commercial systems.
