Location: Houston, TX — This is an in-office role designed around close collaboration and teamwork. Occasional work from home may be available on an as-needed basis.

Note: Candidates must have an active Texas Bar license and at least 3+ years of directly relevant civil litigation experience. Strong legal writing skills and writing samples are imperative.

Job Description

  • Handle complex commercial litigation matters from case development through resolution.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, written discovery, and client communications.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other authorities.
  • Participate in hearings, court proceedings, arbitration, negotiations, depositions, and other litigation activities.
  • Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, risks, and practical strategies.
  • Work closely with attorneys and staff to develop case strategy and deliver high-quality client service.
  • Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
  • Take increasing ownership of matters while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Texas Bar license.
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience drafting briefs, motions, pleadings, written discovery, and legal memoranda.
  • Some hearing and court experience.
  • Strong academic record, particularly for attorneys earlier in their careers.
  • Excellent judgment, communication skills, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented approach with strong initiative and professional integrity.
  • Candidates with substantially more experience may be considered for senior associate or of counsel opportunities.
