Job Details

Seeking a dynamic Litigation Associate (3–8 years of experience) specializing in commercial and/or employment practices litigation to join our growing Litigation Group. In this role, you will work directly with leading clients across the hospitality sector, advising on dispute resolution strategies, managing risk, and advocating in court.

We are looking for an attorney who thrives with autonomy, handles all phases of litigation with confidence, and delivers exceptional client-centered results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management & Strategy: Manage cases end-to-end in both New York state and federal courts, evaluating risk and counseling clients on proactive dispute resolution strategies.
  • Pleading & Motion Practice: Independently research, draft, and argue substantive motions, pleadings, briefs, and trial documents.
  • Discovery & Depositions: Oversee and execute complex discovery plans, including conducting and defending depositions.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and court proceedings with minimal supervision. Confer directly with opposing counsel on procedural, substantive, and settlement matters.

Qualifications & Core Competencies:

  • Please have 3–8 years of hands-on litigation experience, with a focus on commercial litigation and/or employment law matters.
  • Strong working knowledge of the NY CPLR and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Admitted to practice law in New York State (eligible or admitted in SDNY and EDNY).
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Exceptional legal writing, oral advocacy, and client management skills, grounded in professional discretion and sound business judgment.
  • Excellent project management skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining an open, feedback-oriented, and team-focused mindset.
  • Tech Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software/timekeeping platforms (e.g., Clio).
  • Industry Connection: A background in or passion for the food, beverage, and hospitality industries is highly preferred.

Location: Must reside within commuting distance of Downtown NYC.
