Job Details
We are seeking a mid-level litigation associate to join our growing disputes practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys handling a variety of complex matters and wants exposure to multiple substantive areas rather than being siloed into a single specialty.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced litigators on sophisticated disputes involving commercial matters, business conflicts, regulatory issues, and other complex litigation. This role offers hands-on responsibility, significant writing opportunities, direct client interaction, and meaningful involvement in case strategy.
Responsibilities
Handle all phases of complex litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation documents
Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
Participate in discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions
Assist with hearing, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
Develop case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys
Work directly with clients and assist in managing ongoing litigation matters
Support matters across multiple substantive practice areas as business needs require
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
Experience handling complex commercial or business disputes
Strong motion practice, research, and writing experience
Exposure to sophisticated litigation matters involving multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse subject matter areas
Strong academic credentials
Requirements
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in NY or the ability to waive in
Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
Strong verbal communication and client-management abilities
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment
Team-oriented mindset and willingness to take ownership of matters
