    Description

    The Commercial Lines Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, performance, workflow management, and operational oversight of the Commercial Lines Department while maintaining an active underwriting role. This "player-coach" position balances management responsibilities (approximately 75%) with direct underwriting production (approximately 25%).

    The Front-Line Manager supports agency profitability and growth by leading underwriting staff; monitoring assigned underwriter, team and department performance; ensuring adherence to workflows and carrier guidelines; and fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement. This role serves as the primary resource for staff development, operational efficiency, internal audits, reporting, and carrier relationship management while also helping underwrite within our book of business.

    Education

    • Four-year college degree or equivalent industry experience.

    Experience

    • Minimum 5-10 years of Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience.

    • Excess & Surplus Lines experience.

    • Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or coaching experience.

    Licensure

    • Active State Property & Casualty License. (Preferred)

    • Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages, markets, and carrier guidelines.
