Onsite in Waterford, WI
Steffens Insurance Group has written commercial policies for the same market for almost 40 years. Contractors, manufacturers, retail, professional services — the book is real, and it needs someone who can run it without a principal checking behind them.
What You'll Do
Renewals are yours, start to finish. You pull the expiration report, run the carrier conversation, build the submission, and deliver the finished package. Nobody reviews it before the client sees it. When a client calls with a coverage question, you're the one who answers.
What Steffens Insurance Group Values
Relationships before revenue. A client calls you before they call anyone else, because you're the one who actually knows their business.
Ownership without permission. Nobody assigns you the follow-up. You already saw it and started.
Clarity over complexity. Ask if it's needed first. Then cut, simplify, speed up, automate — in that order, no skipping ahead.
Team players only. The bar here doesn't move for anyone, including you.
Family first. Ownership by a family means it runs like one. Your time off is yours, full stop.

Steffens Insurance Group is a family-owned independent agency in Waterford, WI. Mike Steffens spent 44 years building it. Derik, Jake, and Katie are running it now. We handle the complexity most small-market agencies hand off — full commercial and personal lines P&C through SIG, combined with sophisticated financial planning through V3 Financial, for clients who’ve been with us long enough to refer their kids. They’re not shopping for the cheapest policy. They’re paying for continuity with people who know them. We hire A-players because one wrong hire in a firm this size affects everyone, and because the people here hold a standard they’re not willing to lower.
