Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician
Picture your day starting in Lewiston, ID. You load your tools, review the service queue, and head to a local restaurant where a fryer needs attention before the lunch rush. By mid-morning, you’re in Clarkston, WA, swapping a worn component on a dish machine. After lunch, you’re in Moscow, ID, completing preventative maintenance and documenting your work—then coordinating a specialized vendor for an exhaust system repair. Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $26.44–$28.84 per hour
- Schedule: Full-time, day shift
- Home Base: Lewiston, ID
- Service Area: Lewiston, ID; Clarkston, WA; Moscow, ID
What You’ll Do
- Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace commercial kitchen equipment, including fryers, ovens, grills, dish machines, and exhaust systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple restaurant, warehouse, and catering facilities.
- Respond to maintenance requests and service calls from restaurant managers and operations teams.
- Resolve electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general facility issues.
- Tackle diverse tasks: carpentry, plumbing, concrete work, welding, painting, and equipment replacement.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to identify potential failures, safety risks, and repair needs.
- Complete PM schedules, service logs, and maintenance records accurately.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
- Travel between locations to provide on-site maintenance and emergency repair support.
Note: Approximately 60–70% of this role centers on equipment repair, troubleshooting, and replacement.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Required: Previous maintenance or mechanical repair experience—this is not an entry-level role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Background repairing appliances, commercial equipment, machinery, or mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of building maintenance disciplines, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Eager to learn new skills and handle varied maintenance responsibilities.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple service requests across different facilities.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
- Willing and able to travel throughout Lewiston, Clarkston, and Moscow.
Preferred Experience
Any of the following is a plus:
- Commercial kitchen equipment repair
- Restaurant or hospitality facility maintenance
- HVAC and refrigeration (including walk-in coolers and freezers)
- Commercial appliance repair
- Welding, plumbing, electrical, or general construction
