Conduct inspections on commercial construction projects, including new builds, remodels, and renovationsEnsure compliance with local and state building codesWork closely with contractors, architects, and property owners to explain requirements and resolve violationsInvestigate complaints and address structural and safety concernsDocument inspections, prepare detailed reports, and track compliancePerform follow-up inspections to confirm corrective actionsInterpret and apply building codes across multiple disciplines (structural, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
What You Bring to the TableYou've been in the field and understand how commercial projects come together:
High School Diploma or GED8+ years of experience in commercial construction (concrete, roofing, siding, drywall, or related fields)Valid Allen County Contractor License, Inspector Certification, or ability to achieve license within 12 months from hire.Working knowledge of structural, electrical, plumbing, and safety codesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction plansStrong communication skills-you can work effectively with contractors and design professionalsBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office and reporting tools)Basic math and measurement skillsValid Driver's License
