This role is responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems while providing responsive, professional service to our customers.The ideal candidate is a skilled HVAC professional with strong troubleshooting abilities who can work independently, communicate effectively with customers, and identify the right solutions to keep complex building systems operating safely and efficiently.What You'll DoService & Maintain Commercial HVAC SystemsTroubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and mechanical systemsPerform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and service lifeService equipment including rooftop units, air-handling units, chillers, boilers, pumps, and related HVAC systemsInspect equipment and identify mechanical, electrical, and operational issuesComplete repairs and component replacements according to manufacturer and industry standardsVerify proper system operation following service and repair workTroubleshoot & Solve ProblemsDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and HVAC control issuesRead and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentationUse diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify system problemsDetermine the root cause of equipment failures and performance issuesRecommend appropriate repair, replacement, or system improvement optionsIdentify potential problems before they result in major equipment failures or downtimeSupport Our CustomersRespond to scheduled service calls and emergency service requestsCommunicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommendationsExplain technical issues and available solutions in a professional and understandable mannerBuild strong customer relationships through dependable, responsive serviceCoordinate with Service Managers, Dispatchers, other Technicians, and internal teams to resolve customer needsRepresent VMG professionally at customer facilities and project locationsMaintain Safety & DocumentationFollow VMG, OSHA, manufacturer, and customer safety requirementsMaintain accurate service tickets, work orders, equipment information, and repair documentationDocument labor, materials, parts, system conditions, and recommendationsProperly maintain company tools, equipment, and vehiclesMaintain clean and safe work areasParticipate in on-call or after-hours service rotations as requiredWhat You Bring3+ years of commercial HVAC service, maintenance, or repair experienceStrong knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systemsExperience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical HVAC issuesWorking knowledge of HVAC controls and system operationsAbility to read wiring diagrams, schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentationStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and make sound decisions in the fieldStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to safely lift and handle equipment, tools, and materials required for the positionValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPreferred ExperienceEPA Universal CertificationJourneyman HVAC licenseExperience with rooftop units, air-handling units, chillers, boilers, pumps, and commercial HVAC equipmentExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC controlsManufacturer or factory training on commercial HVAC equipmentExperience servicing multiple equipment manufacturersOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience working in large commercial or mission-critical facilitiesWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly compensation based on experienceBonus and incentive opportunitiesMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysCompany vehicle and necessary tools based on positionOngoing technical training and professional developmentOpportunities for career advancement within VMGExposure to a wide range of commercial HVAC systems and facilitiesA collaborative, team-oriented environment where your expertise is valuedWhy VMG?At VMG, our Service Technicians are an important part of the relationships we build with our customers.
