You do not need to fit into a one-size-fits-all job description-we'll evaluate your experience and skill set to determine the level that best fits you.What You'll DoDepending on your experience and technical level, responsibilities may include:Perform commercial preventive maintenance, no-cool/no-heat service calls, inspections, diagnostics and quoted repairsDiagnose and repair package units, split systems, water-source heat pumps, fan coils, mini-splits and other commercial HVAC equipmentTroubleshoot electrical, refrigerant and airflow issues using wiring diagrams and diagnostic toolsPerform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, brazing and component replacementDiagnose high- and low-voltage electrical issues, 3-phase systems, motors, compressors, economizers, actuators and power exhaust systemsWork with VFDs, controls, pumps, hydronic systems and advanced refrigerant problemsDepending on skill level, diagnose and repair larger and more specialized equipment including VRF systems, boilers, cooling towers and chillersTroubleshoot intermittent faults, communication problems, nuisance lockouts and complex control issuesComplete accurate and detailed service documentation before leaving the job siteCommunicate professionally with commercial customers regarding findings, recommendations and completed workHelp reduce callbacks by taking ownership of diagnostics and repairsSupport and mentor developing technicians as your experience progressesParticipate in a flexible on-call rotationWhat You Bring2+ years of HVAC service experienceCommercial HVAC experience strongly preferredEPA 608 certificationSolid understanding of electrical and refrigeration fundamentalsAbility to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot HVAC equipmentAbility to calculate superheat and subcooling and verify proper system operationValid driver's license and safe driving recordStrong problem-solving skills and a willingness to continue learningAdvanced experience with 3-phase electrical systems, VFDs, controls, hydronics, VRF systems, boilers, cooling towers, chillers or larger commercial equipment may qualify you for a higher technician level.NATE certification is preferred but not required.
