Commercial HVAC Service & Installation Specialist (CT S2/S1)

A day in the role
You start your morning reviewing the service board for commercial clients around Glastonbury. The first stop is a rooftop unit with erratic cooling. You verify electrical integrity, trace a control fault, and bring the system back online. After lunch, you commission a newly installed split system, run start-up tests, and document readings. Before wrapping up, you complete preventative maintenance at a nearby site, note a failing actuator, and recommend a corrective plan. Throughout the day, you keep safety front-and-center and ensure every task aligns with Connecticut codes and standards.
What you will handle
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment
- Complete installations, start-ups, and functional testing
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components and controls
- Perform preventative maintenance and detailed system inspections
- Identify deficiencies and propose practical, code-compliant solutions
- Adhere to Connecticut safety regulations and codes at all times
- Accurately record service findings and work performed
- Deliver professional on-site customer service
What you bring
- Active Connecticut S2 or S1 HVAC License (required)
- Demonstrated experience with commercial HVAC systems
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving ability
- Comfort working independently and collaborating with a team
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
Compensation
- $42–$48 per hour, depending on experience
