Position Overview
As a Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician, you will diagnose, repair, maintain, and install commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment for retail and commercial facilities throughout the service area. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections
- Install, replace, and commission HVAC/R equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues
- Service rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, package units, refrigeration systems, boilers, and control systems
- Maintain HVAC systems ranging from 1 to 50 tons
- Identify repair and replacement recommendations for customers
- Complete service tickets, reports, and required documentation accurately
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized manner
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and team members
- Participate in rotating on-call schedules, overtime, weekends, and holiday service as needed
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of Commercial HVAC/R Service experience
- Graduate of an accredited HVAC technical training program
- EPA Universal Certification (Required)
- Valid Driver''s License with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of: Commercial HVAC systems, Refrigeration systems, Rooftop units (RTUs), Boilers, Electrical troubleshooting, and Controls and automation systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics
- Experience using diagnostic tools, meters, gauges, and testing equipment
- Must provide personal hand tools, gauges, and meters
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequently climb ladders and access rooftops
- Ability to kneel, bend, crawl, reach, and work in confined spaces
- Lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials as required
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
