Commercial Full Time Cleaner

Position Overview:

C&C Cleaning Services  is seeking a reliable and dedicated Janitor to join our custodial team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of school facilities, ensuring a clean and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to ensure that all areas are properly cleaned and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning & Maintenance
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, and surfaces.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners regularly.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Clean and disinfect high-touch areas, including doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
• Spot clean spills and stains on floors, carpets, and furniture.
• Facility Support
• Set up and arrange furniture for events or classroom activities as needed.
• Assist with the setup and teardown of special events, assemblies, or school functions.
• Report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, lighting, or HVAC problems) to the custodial supervisor for repair.
• Monitor the overall condition of the building and notify supervisors of safety hazards or needed repairs.
• Safety & Compliance
• Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure that custodial supplies are stocked and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
• Adhere to Baldwin Community Schools' policies and procedures for sanitation and cleanliness.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required.
• Skills & Abilities
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects as needed.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe manner.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires work inside school buildings.
• The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours required for special events or school functions.
• The job may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other allergens.
