Overview:

The Financial Analyst is a key role in our growing finance department, granting the right individual the opportunity to play a central role within the FP&A group of The Marzetti Company. This individual will be given an opportunity to build skills and gain experience across multiple functions including Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics.  The right candidate will have superior excel modeling and reporting skills combined with an eagerness and enthusiasm towards learning the business and developing new skills. The ideal candidate will be action oriented, results driven but also have the “soft” skills to collaborate effectively across all functional pillars with multiple teams.  

Responsibilities:
  • Partner in a high-energy, fast-paced team environment to deliver financial analysis that translates data into actionable business insights, supporting critical decision-making. 
  • Prepare and communicate monthly financial results and variance analyses to functional leaders through comprehensive reporting packages, including: 
  • Detailed SG&A reporting for R&D, Legal, Finance, HR, and other corporate support functions. 
  • Consumer marketing spend analysis across both Retail and Foodservice business units. 
  • Execute month-end close responsibilities, working alongside accounting to prepare monthly journal entries as needed 
  • Support the development and execution of the annual operating plan (AOP), aligning financial objectives with evolving business priorities. 
  • Perform additional financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects as assigned by management. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required 
  • 1-3 years finance or accounting experience 
  • Ability to work in a team setting, drive team results and support change management within the organization 
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills required 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a sense of urgency while meeting required time constraints 
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain full confidentiality 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel ability 
Working Conditions/Environment:

Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. The noise level in the office is quiet.  Travel to outside locations may be required.
