    Join Vortex Doors as a Commercial Entry Systems Installer & Service Specialist

    Picture your day: you pick up a fully stocked service vehicle, review work orders, and head to a local business where a storefront door needs precise alignment. By mid-morning you’re replacing a closer and dialing in access control hardware. After lunch, you troubleshoot a faulty operator, document your work, and walk the customer through the fix. Every stop is a chance to make buildings safer and keep businesses moving.

    What You’ll Do

    • Install, service, and maintain commercial and industrial doors with professional tools and equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues—springs, hinges, locks, operators, and related components.
    • Configure and fit door hardware: locks, handles, closers, and basic access control systems.
    • Verify all work meets safety practices and applicable building codes.
    • Deliver clear, friendly customer service—explain findings, outline options, and provide cost‑effective solutions.
    • Complete accurate service notes, measurements, and installation reports.
    • Perform final quality checks to ensure reliable operation and Vortex standards.

    Schedule

    • Full-time within business hours of 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime and on-call needs.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 2+ years in commercial door service is a plus (not required).
    • Familiarity with door types, brands, and hardware is a plus.
    • Skilled with hand and power tools; able to read a tape measure and work with fractions.
    • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer communication.
    • Detail oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety protocols.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs; bend and lift repeatedly; climb ladders up to 20’; work on knees for extended periods; and operate power tools proficiently.
