    Commercial Electrical Project Manager

    Location: Tampa, FL


    We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects throughout the Tampa market. This position is responsible for managing projects from initial estimating and client development through field execution, financial performance, and final closeout.

    The ideal candidate combines strong commercial electrical construction knowledge with project leadership and client-facing skills. This individual will work closely with general contractors, field supervision, estimating, purchasing, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within established budgets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Take ownership of commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through successful completion and closeout.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors to identify upcoming construction opportunities.
    • Generate new business by building a strong network of GC and client relationships.
    • Maintain consistent communication with existing customers and provide a level of service that encourages repeat business.
    • Prepare estimates and proposals for commercial electrical construction opportunities using Accubid.
    • Partner with the estimating team to develop competitive and accurate project proposals.
    • Plan field labor requirements and coordinate subcontractor resources according to project schedules and installation needs.
    • Maintain high standards for installation quality and overall workmanship.
    • Ensure completed projects are properly documented, finalized, and turned over in an organized manner.
    • Review contract documents and construction schedules to understand key milestones, sequencing requirements, and required completion dates.
    • Clearly communicate schedule expectations and project deadlines to field superintendents.
    • Track project progress against the general contractor's schedule and proactively address potential delays.
    • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate staffing levels, material availability, equipment requirements, and overall project conditions.
    • Coach and develop field superintendents to ensure projects are managed according to established company expectations and procedures.
    • Work with field leadership to forecast the labor hours required to finish each project.
    • Support superintendents in controlling labor productivity and completing work within the approved project budget.
    • Serve as a primary point of coordination for general contractors and respond effectively to project-related requests and concerns.
    • Monitor completed work throughout construction to evaluate progress, productivity, and adherence to project requirements.
    • Identify additional or modified work and prepare appropriate change order pricing and documentation.
    • Coordinate with the purchasing team during project startup, material procurement, and the submittal process.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience managing commercial electrical construction projects.
    • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, field operations, labor planning, and project sequencing.
    • Experience working directly with general contractors throughout the construction lifecycle.
    • Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, manpower requirements, and jobsite resources.
    • Experience preparing commercial electrical estimates and proposals using Accubid.
    • Ability to review project schedules and anticipate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
    • Experience evaluating project changes and developing change order pricing.
    • Strong communication, organization, leadership, and client relationship skills.
    • Ability to effectively coordinate between field teams, estimating, purchasing, subcontractors, and general contractors.
    • Demonstrated commitment to quality workmanship and successful project delivery.
