POSITION TITLE: Commercial Development & Licenses/Permits Manager DEPARTMENT: Planning & Community Development DIVISION: Building Development SALARY: Negotiable CLOSING: Until Filled Job Summary/Scope Coordinates the submission of all site and construction documentation related to new and existing commercial construction. Provide all necessary commercial plan review coordination with city staff by initiating, monitoring, and communicating plan review progress with customers utilizing verbal and written report. Effectively communicates and keeps public informed regarding building issues. Directly supervises Permit Clerks and oversees the permitting and licensing. Coordinates applications for special events and issuing of all permits associated with special events. Performs all administrative duties for director, and clerical budget duties for staff. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is conducted in an office environment. Work involves sitting, standing, stooping, reaching and bending. Lifting plans sets daily with weights of up to 30 lbs. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field desirable, any combination of formal education and work experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment.
