    Commercial Credit Analyst
Uvalde, TX (Onsite) | Full Time

    About the Bank
Our client is a well-established, independent community bank serving South Texas with a loan portfolio of more than $650 million. Its commercial credit team underwrites complex relationships and partners with a dozen or more banks on participation loans. This is an opportunity to see full deals end to end and work directly alongside senior leadership.

    The Role
The bank is seeking a seasoned Credit Analyst to underwrite and analyze commercial credits ranging from $250,000 to $30 million. You will work independently on complex commercial real estate, commercial and industrial, and agricultural loans, and serve as a trusted analytical partner to the bank's commercial lenders. This is an onsite role.

    What You'll Do

    • Spread and analyze business and personal financial statements and tax returns, including multi-entity and global cash flow analysis.
    • Prepare complete credit memorandums for new requests, renewals and modifications, with clear risk assessment and recommendations.
    • Underwrite commercial real estate (owner-occupied and investor), C&I lines of credit and term loans, and agricultural credits.
    • Analyze and underwrite participation loans bought and sold with 12+ partner banks, and prepare participation packages.
    • Evaluate collateral, repayment sources, guarantor strength, covenants and industry risk.
    • Work directly with commercial lenders to structure deals, and communicate with borrowers' CPAs and accountants to obtain and clarify financial information.
    • Perform annual reviews, covenant monitoring and risk rating support across the portfolio.
    • Support credit risk management on portfolio analysis, loan policy compliance and regulatory exam preparation.

    What You Bring

    • Several years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience at a bank, Farm Credit institution or similar lender.
    • Strong financial analysis skills: statement spreading, cash flow analysis, ratio analysis and tax return analysis.
    • Experience with complex CRE and C&I credits; agricultural lending exposure is a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; Finance or a related field with basic-to-intermediate accounting coursework considered.
    • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Clear, professional communication with lenders, executives and outside accountants.
    • Formal credit training (e.g., RMA or a bank credit training program) and participation lending experience preferred.

    Why This Opportunity

    • Own credits up to $30M from start to finish rather than a narrow slice at a large institution.
    • Direct exposure to the bank's executive and credit leadership.
    • Variety across CRE, C&I, agricultural and participation lending.
    • Be the onsite anchor of the credit team, with high visibility and real influence.
    • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus a full bank benefits package.
