    Commercial Construction Welder


    Job Summary
    Nash Plumbing and Mechanical is seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Welder to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of welding tasks on commercial construction projects, ensuring high-quality, durable, and safe structural components.

    Job Responsibilities
    * Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to determine the appropriate welding process and materials.
    * Execute various welding techniques including Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Flux-Cored (FCAW) on steel, stainless steel, and other common construction materials.
    * Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel components, beams, columns, and other metal parts according to project plans and safety standards.
    * Operate and maintain welding equipment, including arc welders, oxy-acetylene torches, grinders, and other power tools.
    * Inspect welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to specifications, performing repairs as needed.
    * Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
    * Collaborate effectively with other construction trades, supervisors, and project managers.
    * Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and workspace to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
    * Assist with material handling, rigging, and other general labor tasks as required on the job site.
    * Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.

    Job Qualifications
    * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a commercial welder in a construction environment.
    * Proven proficiency in Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Flux-Cored (FCAW) welding processes.
    * Current welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Welding Code) are highly preferred.
    * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings accurately.
    * Strong understanding of welding safety practices and procedures.
    * Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and spatial reasoning.
    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
    * Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions.
    * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
    * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
