Chicago-Based | Respiratory & Acute Care
The Opportunity
A highly respected, award-winning MedTech company in the respiratory and acute-care space is hiring a Commercial Business Analyst to help level up the commercial organization through advanced data analytics, visualization, and strategic storytelling.
This is a high-visibility analytical seat working integrally with commercial leadership, the Sr. Systems Analyst, and finance. It is designed for someone who can bridge the gap between complex datasets and commercial strategy, turning raw data into actionable insights that guide decision-making for leadership and sellers alike.
Why This Role Matters
The company has built a strong commercial foundation. The next stage is about creating more scalability, speed, and execution discipline across all commercial data sources and reporting frameworks.
The company needs a strong analytical problem solver who can evaluate the business continuously, improve process efficiency, and maximize the full utilization of the commercial tech stack.
This person will ensure data accuracy and clear business health visibility across Strategic Planning, QBRs, Monthly Business Updates, commercial modeling, and Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives.
What You Will Own
You will serve as the owner for performance reporting delivery, database integrity, and commercial analytics.
Core areas of ownership include:
- Commercial Analytics Framework: Build, evolve, and maintain scalable dashboards and customer-centric analytics frameworks.
- Strategic Storytelling: Extract actionable insights from large datasets to provide content for commercial management meetings, QBRs, and board presentations.
- GTM & Commercial Modeling: Provide data-driven support for compensation and quota program builds, sales channel effectiveness, territory resource planning, and GTM campaigns (Spiffs, market expansion).
- Data Governance & Integrity: Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and IT to ensure high-level data accuracy, run regular audit processes, and manage database structures (SQL).
- Forecasting & Demand Planning: Partner with region/country managers and Demand Planning to cross-check forecast validity and promote self-service tool utilization.
- System Integration: Partner integrally with the Sr. Systems Analyst to connect commercial data directly into PULSE and optimize CRM/data visualization tools (Tableau, Salesforce).
What Success Looks Like
The successful analyst will help transform how the commercial organization uses data to drive performance.
That means:
- Transitioning commercial reporting from presenting data to generating actionable insights.
- Faster response times and higher accuracy for regular and ad-hoc data requests.
- Flawless delivery and execution of QBR, board-level, and monthly business update content.
- Scalable reporting models that are easy to replicate across regional, country, and global teams.
- Tighter cross-functional alignment with Finance, Commercial Excellence, and Demand Planning teams.
This role is about driving commercial behavior and guide decision-making, not just running static spreadsheets.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidate will bring a blend of:
- Strong analytical problem-solving and database experience (SQL query writing, CRUD operations).
- Data visualization expertise (Tableau or similar BI tools) paired with advanced Excel skills.
- The ability to translate complex technical data into clear, compelling presentations for executive leadership.
- Commercial acumen with exposure to sales operations, GTM strategy, or compensation modeling.
- High levels of drive, curiosity, and self-awareness, with a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Required Experience
- Degree in IT, Business Management, or a related analytical field.
- 2 to 3 years of demonstrated track record in data analysis using SQL (queries, CRUD operations, database structure).
- Proven experience working with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas required; VBA desirable).
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and ability to present complex concepts clearly.
- Experience extracting actionable insights from large, multi-source datasets.
- Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
- MedTech, medical device, or healthcare commercial analytics exposure.
- CRM administration or user experience (Salesforce desirable).
- Background supporting sales forecasting, quota/compensation modeling, or commercial resource planning.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Finance and Demand Planning teams.
Compensation and Location
- Location: Chicago office-based position with flexibility as required.
- Travel: Up to 25% travel (both domestic and international).
- Compensation: Up to $120K base + 8% bonus
