    Description

Unimacts is a leader in contract manufacturing and supply chain management for the solar and wind sectors, with operations spanning the U.S., Mexico, Spain, India, and China. Backed by top-tier venture capital and fueled by growth from the Inflation Reduction Act, we're scaling fast in renewable energy manufacturing.

    About This Role

This is not a standard forklift position. Unimacts is seeking an experienced Combi-Lift Operator to handle the movement of oversized, wide-load cargo (components exceeding 20 feet in width) at our growing Sloan, Nevada facility. This role requires specialized expertise in operating 5-ton and 10-ton combi-lift equipment, distinct from standard forklift operation, and is critical to the safe handling of large-scale solar and wind components.

We're looking for candidates with backgrounds in heavy equipment operation, port/marine cargo handling, oversized freight and logistics, wind turbine blade or component transport, or heavy construction equipment, in addition to traditional industrial forklift experience.

We seek Combi-lift operators for 1st (5AM-3:30PM) and 2nd (3:30PM-2AM) shifts at our Sloan, NV location.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operate 5-ton and 10-ton combi-lift equipment to safely move oversized cargo (20+ feet wide) through loading docks, processing zones, and storage areas
    • Assess load dimensions, weight distribution, and clearance requirements before every lift, given the scale of the materials handled
    • Position and secure oversized loads, accounting for wider turning radii, extended mast reach, and non-standard load balance
    • Coordinate closely with ground crew and spotters during moves, given the reduced visibility and larger footprint of combi-lift operation
    • Load/unload oversized components from flatbeds, specialized trailers, or rail cars
    • Inspect loads and equipment before and after transport to ensure structural integrity and compliance
    • Perform routine maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, battery/fuel management, and basic mechanical upkeep specific to combi-lift machinery
    • Maintain accurate records of weights, dimensions, and movement logs for oversized materials
    • Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns specific to heavy-capacity lifting equipment

    Requirements

    • Proven experience operating combi-lifts, side-loaders, or comparable heavy-capacity/oversized-load equipment (5-ton minimum, 10-ton preferred)
    • Background in one or more of the following: heavy equipment operation, port/marine terminal operations, wind energy component logistics, oversized/wide-load freight transport, or heavy construction
    • Demonstrated ability to judge clearance, load balance, and spatial requirements for wide loads (20+ feet)
    • Comfortable operating larger, less maneuverable equipment in tight facility environments
    • Strong communication skills for coordinating with spotters and ground crew during moves
    • High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certification or licensing specific to combi-lift or heavy-capacity lift equipment
    • Experience handling large industrial components (turbine blades, solar racking, structural steel, etc.)
    • Prior work in a manufacturing, port, or heavy construction environment

    What We Offer

By joining our team, your specialized combi-lift expertise will directly support the buildout and growth of our Sloan, Nevada operations during a pivotal period for the renewable energy industry.
