Overview
R&P is looking for a professional who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Interior Communications (IC) System Integration/ Combat System Technician ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a specialized Interior Communications (IC) & Combat Systems Test Engineer to lead the installation, operational testing, and integration of critical shipboard communication and combat systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Interior Communications (IC) System Integration. In this role, you will spearhead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex IC equipment and subsystems, from initial installation through final tactical network integration.
Conduct precision testing on shipboard copper cabling, fiber optics, and Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) lines.
Execute Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Product Configuration Identification (PCI) testing.
Lead post-installation System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) and support Builders, Acceptance, and Final Contract Trials.
Analyze performance data to isolate, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate IC and combat system issues.
Review and refine technical test procedures for absolute accuracy before execution.
Assist Ship''s Force personnel with system operations, grooming, and technical IC familiarity.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provides on-site combat systems engineering and technical support.Assess radar system installation and integration progress.Conducts initial radar light-off activities, including power, connectivity, operability, reliability, and safety verification.Conducts radar testing in direct support of the Government Test Team.Validates, monitors, and troubleshoots complex radar systems to identify electronic failures to continue testing of the equipmentand return it to full operational capability

Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
Graduate of a high school, trade or industrial school or correspondence school in which credits were received in algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry, and physics.
An Associates degree as an electronics technician or equivalent Amphibious Ship experience is preferred.
Three (3) years of practical experience in responsible combat system engineering duties including three (3) years of progressive experience involving operation, maintenance, and testing of Surface Combatant Class Naval ship systems and equipment. Should have three (3) years of experience directly related to Surface Combatant Combat Support Systems testing in multiple areas of Combat Systems suite to include, but not limited to:
Cable testing
Electromagnetic Interference testing
Product Configuration Identification testing
Interior Communications equipment and systems, radar systems, and hydrostatic testing
General Navigation Aids, electronic, mechanical, and electrical primary and support equipment testing
Communications equipment testing
Cryptographic systems testing
Perform land-based and underway testing and analysis of radar system performance and provide hands-on training for shipboard maintenance technicians and operators.
LPD/LHA Platform CSLO/ESLO experience perferred
Current US DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
