Tesla's Collision Repair department is looking for someone to join the Collision Repair Validation Team in supporting structural body repair and replacement for collision repair centers around the world.
This position is based at our Austin, TX Collision Repair Headquarters and serves to review, perform, and provide feedback on structural repair procedures. As a validation technician, you'll be performing repair procedures, validating repair center tooling, and investigating issues on the path to new repair techniques.

Perform structural repair procedures on Tesla vehicles and provide procedure feedback to development team for optimization
Create Flat Rate Times for estimating platforms and present repair validation results to various teams for review and approval
Validate and test collision repair equipment (i.e. frame equipment, riveters, welders, etc.) and collision repair consumables (i.e. adhesives, fasteners, corrosion protection, etc.)
Maintain a clean and organized workshop; includes cleaning of work area and maintaining of equipment used to perform validations
Perform operations consistent with collision repair; disassembly/reassembly of vehicles, cutting, grinding, welding, riveting, panel preparation, fitting
Time management of multiple projects, simultaneously
Complying with all of Tesla's safety rules, guidelines, and standards
Vocational certificate in collision repair preferred, or equivalent experience
5+ years industry experience with structural repair, Tesla experience preferred
Collision repair industry experience, i.e. frame equipment, welding, riveting, diagnostic systems, estimating platforms, etc.
Experience with various metal types from Aluminum to UHSS Steel
Strong computer skills
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality, work independently in limited supervision environments, and travel domestically and international based on business needs
Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and driving a forklift
