Position Summary:
Saint Constantine College is seeking applications for the position of Full Time or Part Time Head Librarian. The Head Librarian is responsible for overseeing the development and operations of the Saint Constantine College Library. The Head Librarian has Faculty status in the College and works with a community of students studying Great Texts from a classical, Orthodox perspective. Specific duties of the position include:
Development of programs and services for target audiences
Collection development and management
Cataloging books and materials
Identifying current community needs and project future needs
Conduct lectures for students
Assist students with research and assignments
Assist faculty in acquiring materials for their respective courses
Develop and maintain relationships with other institutions
Related work as required
Employees are expected to function independently and exercise independent judgment, tact, and initiative. Employees in this classification provide supervision and training to part-time and temporary staff and volunteers, and lead projects and programs within assigned area of specialty.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library science with professional librarian experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Flexible, organized, and able to multitask and prioritize.
Creative and strategic problem-solving abilities.
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
Standing in and walking between work areas is frequently required.
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to perform assigned duties, as well as push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information.
Employees must possess the ability to lift and carry materials and objects up to 25 pounds and push and pull materials and objects up to 75 pounds with the use of proper equipment.

Supervision of Others: Library Clerk; student workers
Hours Per Week: 20 - 40 (depending on part or full time status)
