The RoleWe are looking for a talented
Collections Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, managing overdue accounts, and resolving payment issues. You will work closely with billing, sales, and customer service to resolve account discrepancies and enhance cash flow. The role reports to the Regional Controller.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables to meet company targets.
- Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and resolve issues preventing payment.
- Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of customer accounts to maintain accuracy.
- Execute outbound collection activities (80%) and support account administration (20%) through payment lookups, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate account records.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, providing supporting documentation as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications)- Experience: 2-3 years of related experience in Accounts Receivable or Collections.
- Education:Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Google Workspace including Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
- Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bonus Points:Prior experience in the waste management or construction industry is an asset.
