The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing delinquent accounts, communicating with borrowers regarding repayment options, and helping resolve outstanding balances while maintaining compliance with federal regulations.

Your specific duties will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts and perform collection activities.
  • Contact borrowers via phone, email, and written correspondence regarding outstanding balances.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and discuss repayment solutions.
  • Document all collection activity accurately within compliance standards and federal regulations.
  • Utilize skip tracing tools and techniques to locate hard-to-reach account holders.
  • Respond to borrower inquiries while providing professional, customer-focused support.
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced collections environment.

Required qualifications for the position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging conversations and maintain professionalism with empathy and confidence.

Preferred qualifications for the position include:

  • Some college coursework.
  • 1–3 years of collections, customer service, or financial services experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with CRM or collections systems.
  • Understanding of collections compliance and debt collection regulations.

Pay Rate Range: $20.00 per hour

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits including medical, dental and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
