Job SummaryEnvironmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with Collections and/or Curatorial experience to support on-site collections projects in Richmond, Virginia. This role is ideal for early to mid-career professionals passionate about archaeology and/or history, historical collections, and preserving cultural heritage.Essential FunctionsInput of artifact dimensions, descriptions, conditions, and quantities into DONHAMS or NHHC-provided Excel spreadsheetIdentification photographs captured with professional equipment at 300 DPI or greater; delivered in JPEG formatDocumentation detailing provenance research, artifact identification, and accessions number verificationBriefings on the number of objects inventoried/assessed and the work rate (artifacts assessed per person/per hour)Written compilation of the project update metrics (objects assessed and work rates)Comprehensive summary of all work accomplishedFinalize inventory dataset; print and provide electronic copies delivered to the technical point of contactQualificationsContractors assigned to this project must be U.S. citizens with professional collection management experience, in addition to the following:Experience working with the physical management of historical artifact collections, preferably experience with maritime and military collections as a museum specialist/collection managerA graduate degree in museum studies or closely related field and one (1) year of curatorial experience or three (3) years of graduate study and experience combined; or a Bachelor's degree in museum studies, or closely related field, and four (4) years museum experience with increasingly difficult duties; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredStrong communication and teamwork skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with historical metal objectsKnowledge of collections inventory softwareFirst Aid/CPR certificationWhy ERG?ERG: We enhance missions.
