    Objective / Purpose:The Collections Clerk is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts, securing timely payments, resolving billing disputes (adjustments), and maintaining accurate account records. This position works closely with customers, carriers and internal departments to resolve disputes, reduce past-due balances, and support overall collections performance. Job Duties:
    • Manage assigned accounts and prioritize collections by aging, balance, risk, credit limits, and payment history
    • Collect payments in accordance with company policies and established terms
    • Contact customers by phone, email, and other communication methods regarding past-due balances
    • Negotiate payment arrangements while protecting the company s financial interests
    • Research and resolve billing, short-pay, deductions, and invoice disputes
    • Reconcile account activity and payments
    • Maintain accurate, detailed, timely collection notes and account documentation
    • Escalate high-risk accounts according to company procedures
    • Achieve established collection and productivity goals
    • Protect confidentiality of customer and company financial information Qualifications:
      • 3 years in collections, accounts receivable, or customer account management preferred; transportation and logistics experience a plus
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams
      • Comfortable working with financial information, aging reports, and account-management system
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel) is required
      • Experience with ERP/accounts system preferred Preferred Skills:
        • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
        • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
