Brief Overview of Position
This function is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely release of collateral associated with loans, particularly when obligations have been satisfied. The role involves processing collateral releases for paid-off loans, as well as handling release requests that are not directly tied to loan payoff activity. Responsibilities also extend to reviewing and processing exception-clearing documentation, ensuring that any outstanding exceptions are resolved and that loan records accurately reflect the current status of collateral and related documentation. Through these activities, the function helps mitigate operational risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and support a positive customer experience.
In support of the release process, third-party vendor services associated with the loan are reviewed and canceled when appropriate, and all necessary release documentation is prepared to facilitate completion of the transaction.
The position requires regular communication and collaboration with internal business units, title companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure that collateral release requests are handled efficiently and in compliance with applicable requirements. Once prepared, release documents are submitted for recording with the appropriate county or state authorities to formally remove liens and secure interests.
