    Are you the press expert who can turn steel coil into perfect parts—every time?

    If you thrive at night and love the rhythm of a well-tuned press line, this role is your arena. Join us Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 pm–7:30 am, and take ownership of a coil-fed transfer/progressive stamping operation producing high-quality automotive components.

    Your mission

    Own the setup, operation, and quality of a stamping line. From threading the coil to first-piece validation to final runout, you ensure every part meets customer specifications and every job is organized for performance.

    How you'll deliver

    1. Prepare the line: load and adjust coil; configure feeder heights; set air pressure and job controls.
    2. Run the job: operate progressive and transfer dies; use gauges/calipers to validate parts against inspection sheets, control plans, and customer notes.
    3. Stay proactive: troubleshoot issues, keep the area clean, and document results in basic computer systems.
    4. Handle the heavy moves: operate the overhead crane; park/unpark transfer bars; manually dial in transfer finger adjustments.
    5. Read the details: interpret blueprints, welding symbols, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; measure precisely with confidence.
    6. Lead with safety: follow corporate/plant safety standards and treat safe work as a condition of employment.
    7. Adapt and improve: respond to change, apply Poka Yoke, and leverage your knowledge of the GMS system.

    Systems mastery

    • Tonnage monitors: proper utilization and interpretation.
    • P.L.C.'s: operation and interaction with press logic.
    • Die protection devices: correct setup and adjustment.
    • Limit switches and sensors: functional understanding and troubleshooting.

    Know your line

    • Press mechanics: press, slide, clutch, counterbalances.
    • Feeder: strengtheners, pilot pin, grippers, air valves.
    • Coil box: pinch rollers, chain drive, control box.
    • Conveyor system setup.

    Die operation playbook

    • Define the right start-up procedure for each job.
    • Use setup stop blocks to set shut heights accurately.
    • Set tooling heights and clearances for precision and tool life.
    • Confirm progression, feeder heights, and air settings; ensure all controls match the job.
    • Embed error-proofing (Poka Yoke).

    Environment & noise

    You'll work near loud, moving mechanical parts with exposure to vibration. The noise level is heavy with high traffic; ear protection is required.

    Credentials & experience

    • High School Diploma or GED (required).
    • Two or more years of related press operating experience.
    • Background in welding, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and/or water jet cutting is a plus.
