Job Summary:
The position involves coding emergency room (ER) and/or outpatient records.
Job Responsibilities:
Code ER and/or outpatient records.
Work on CCI/medical necessity edits as needed.
Monitor unbilled records for ER/outpatients to ensure all accounts are coded daily.
Maintain quality equal to or greater than 95%.
Maintain productivity equal to or greater than 95%.
Complete continuing education as required.
Exercise independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
Engage with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
Engage with external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff.
Required Skills & Experience:
Zero (0) to six (6) months of work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of Basic ICD 10 training and anatomy and physiology.
Demonstrated PC and software proficiency.
Ability to score 80% or above on the outpatient coding exam.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification from an accredited coding program and a score of 80% or above on the outpatient coding exam.

Shift Requirements:
2 years of orthopedic coding experience.
Availability during working hours to communicate with the team.
