Licensure: Registered Health Information Administrator Or Registered Health Information Technician Or Certified Professional Coder Or Certified Outpatient Coder Or Certified Coding Specialist Required Education: Associate's Degree Health Information Management Preferred Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management Preferred Experience: 2 Years Coding - Inpatient Preferred Overview: The Coder I, Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts less than $15,000 and any outpatient accounts, provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes.

Overview:

The Coder I, Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts less than $15,000 and any outpatient accounts, provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinic and Official Coding Guidelines. Groups discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate DRG for reimbursement. Communicates with physicians and clinical staff regarding coding and documentation issues.
