Position: COBOL, UNIX Developer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced COBOL/UNIX Developer to support and enhance enterprise applications in a financial services environment. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in COBOL development, UNIX/Linux systems, SQL, and application support. Experience in banking, capital markets, or custody services is highly preferred.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and implement solutions.
- Work in UNIX/Linux environments for application deployment and support.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and database interactions.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and system enhancements.
- Prepare technical documentation and support application releases.
Required Skills- Strong experience with COBOL programming.
- Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, DB2, or Sybase).
- Experience with Shell scripting.
- Knowledge of batch processing and job scheduling.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with source code/version control tools.
Preferred Skills- Financial services or Capital Markets experience.
- custody banking experience.
- Exposure to Mainframe technologies (JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2).
- Agile/Scrum development methodology.
