    Job Title: Tacker

    Department: Upholstery

    Reports To: Department Supervisor

    FLSA Status: Hourly

    Summary

    Installs pre-sewn skins over foamed plastic and/or fiberglass substrates creating finished interior components to be installed in Cobalt Boats. (ie. leanbacks, cushions, side panels, hatches, driver seats, and motor boxes)

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Read and interpret schedule for daily production requirements.
    • Inspect and trim pre-sewn skins.
    • Stretch sewn skin to fit geometric part; staple and/or glue vinyl and carpet to part meeting quality standards set by Cobalt.
    • Perform standard housekeeping duties throughout the day.
    • Perform in accordance with Cobalt's safety policies and procedures.
    • Other duties may be assigned as required

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
