    Job Overview

    The Department of Accounting at the College of Business Administration is accepting applications for Unit 11 Tutor positions for the Academic Year 2026/27.

    Under supervision, Tutors may provide academic support to students enrolled in Accounting courses throughout the 2026/27 Academic Year. Tutors assist students in the Accounting Lab with homework and preparation for quizzes or exams. Instructional Student Assistants work part-time, up to 20 hours max per week during academic periods. Incumbents may have concurrent assignments in other Student Assistant classifications as long as 20 hours are not exceeded in total.

    The duties of an ISA may include:

    • Perform individual and/or group tutoring
    • Assisting with grading for course assignments, quizzes, midterms, and finals
    • Assisting Finance professors with guest speaker parking permits

    General Requirements of the Position:

    • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and other students
    • Ability to accept responsibility

    General Minimum Qualifications of the Position:

    • Admission or registration as a CSUSM student

    Anticipated Pay Rate

    • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $23.84
    • CSU Classification Salary Range: Min: $17.86 to $23.84

    The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

    Instructional Student Assistants are non-exempt employees. CSU policy limits work assignments to no more than 20 hours in a week in all campus positions combined while students are in session.

    Application Timeline 

    Applications are accepted and reviewed as needed, on an on-going basis throughout the 2026/27 Academic Year. Applications will be reviewed starting July 23, 2026. All positions are subject to enrollment/registration as a CSUSM student and funding.
