A growing precision coatings company is seeking a Coating Technician to join its production team. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, inspecting, and finishing customer parts according to specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare components for coating by cleaning, masking, blasting, or other required surface preparation methods.
- Apply specialized coatings according to work instructions and customer specifications.
- Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and overall quality.
- Operate coating equipment, ovens, spray systems, and related production machinery.
- Perform inspections and record production data.
- Identify and report quality concerns or process deviations.
- Follow all safety procedures for handling chemicals, coatings, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with packaging and preparing parts for shipment.
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, aerospace, or coating experience preferred.
- Ability to read work instructions and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to use measuring and inspection tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial spray coatings, powder coating, or precision coatings.
- Experience using masking and surface preparation techniques.
- Forklift certification or material handling experience.
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and handling small parts.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
