    American Anthracite is a primary supplier of low carbon steel, and they are seeking a Coal Process Plant Engineer to join their mining operation as they embark on their journey to streamline and grow this business.

    What are we looking for ?

    Our Coal Process Plant Engineer will play a key role in helping to drive initiatives to improve efficiency and safety across our process operations. It offers a unique opportunity to learn about the entire operation, and work closely with the operations team in a hands-on capacity, helping to find solutions and opportunities to maintain efficiency and optimize production.

    The ideal candidate will have experience working in a coal processing plant, either metallurgical or anthracite processing plant; he/she will have problem-solving skills, the ability to troubleshoot and the desire to be involved and open to learning. The Process Engineer will be integral to helping to drive operational performance and providing technical expertise to support plant management and production teams.

    Located in Hazleton PA, a small mining town a short drive from the plant - you will have the best of both worlds!

    Living in a peaceful, safe, relatively lower cost of living, family-friendly neighbourhood, with an easy drive to work (the plant), while still being only a couple of hours away from major metropolitan cities (like New York, Philadelphia, The Poconos, DC or many beaches).     What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and optimize plant processing systems to improve throughput, recovery rates, and operational efficiency.
    • Design, implement, and monitor process improvements for crushing, screening, washing, drying, and related plant operations.
    • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and process-related issues.
    • Ensure compliance with MSHA, and company safety policies.
    • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical training materials.
    • Evaluate production data, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions.
    • Lead process improvement projects from concept through execution, including cost-benefit analysis.
    • Support capital projects, including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.

    What are we looking for in our future team member?? Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering required; will consider Mechanical or Chemical and/or Material Handling Disciplines, along with hands-on experience in a Coal mining process plant.
    • Must have 3 - 7 years of experience in a Coal processing plant.
    • Solid Knowledge of coal process plant equipment/systems is necessary (ie. crushing, grinding, screening and material handling).
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in process plant.
    • Strong understanding of safety and regulatory requirements.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
    • Strong communication / interpersonal skills.
