Description

Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School, committed to academic excellence and faith-based education, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Outdoor Track Coach. The ideal candidate will promote athletic excellence, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while supporting the mission and values of a Catholic educational community.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize, and conduct all practice sessions, meets, and team-related activities for the track season.
  • Teach proper techniques for sprinting, distance running, jumping, and throwing events.
  • Promote safety, conditioning, and proper warm-up/cool-down procedures.
  • Foster the spiritual, moral, and personal development of student-athletes in alignment with Catholic values.
  • Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and incident reports.
  • Ensure compliance with school and league policies.
  • Support and model Christian behavior and respect in all student and staff interactions.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Prior experience coaching track and field, preferably at the high school level.
  • Knowledge track events, techniques, and training principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete any diocesan-required trainingCurrent CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Experience coaching multiple track disciplines (sprints, distance, jumps, throws).

Work Schedule

  • Seasonal position (Track Season: February to May). Weekday practices (afternoons/evenings) and meets. 

Pay Range: $2,000 Stipend

Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible.
