Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Varsity Head coaches need Five (5) years of head coaching in Basketball at the high school, college or club level. • JV and Freshman Head coaches need three (3) years of experience playing and coaching Basketball at the high school, college or club level. • Varsity and Freshman Assistant coaches need one (1) year playing or coaching Basketball at the high school, college or club level. • A verifiable record of having been part of a winning tradition, including post season C.I.F. playoff competition as a coach is desirable. • A proven verifiable record of positive staff, student and administrative support and relationships. • A proven verifiable record of placing appropriate emphasis on good sportsmanship, academic excellence, positive attitudes and character. • A demonstrated ability to work with parents and athletic booster clubs. • A demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for student athletes and a commitment to holding all students and adults associated with the program to the same standards. • A long term commitment to develop and sustain a positive, winning tradition.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be certified under Title V, C.C.R. Section 5593 and 5594, prior to the beginning of the CIF season of sport. The training and certification is available to all coaches on-line at www.nfhslearn.com . The following certifications must be completed before assuming individual coaching duties: • Fingerprints (Will be done upon selection of candidate) • First Aid and CPR • CIF Fundamentals of Coaching Certificate • CIF Concussion in Sports Certificate • CIF Heat Illness Prevention Certificate • CIF Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate • Current T.B. examination • Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Certification (www.mandatedreporterca.com) • APPLICATION PROCESS Applications from qualified candidates are invited. A complete application file consists of: • A completed EDJOIN application • An up-to-date sports resume (Please ensure resume reflects your athletic coaching experience) • Two (2) recent athletic letters of recommendation are REQUIRED. The letters must be signed and dated within the last 2 years. Acceptable Signatures are: electronic document (Docusign or similar platform) or handwritten scanned signatures. Typed signatures will not be accepted. Applicants are responsible for assuring that Human Resources receive the completed online application submission of their application before the deadline.
